Hey, nice theme, Dion.

I was nearly going to complain that the text is a bit small for us nearly blind guys (The Pope warned me I would go blind), but I take it all back because everything re-sizes so neatly - even the pictures!

Merry Christmas and best wishes for your studies next year.

Merry Christmas to you, too, Mike! Hope you have a good one.

hey guys, if you have time to advise a non-coder who fakes it pretty well, i.e., i know very little but can follow instructions really well: i just set up a wordpress blog with chaoticsoul and can’t figure out how to resize the type (sidebars, titles & posts), nor how to put more space between posts (i’ve got multiple slide shows posted and would prefer only one be visible at a time). i’d really appreciate any help you could offer. i’m using wordpress.com, so have access to the better version of the theme. i’d be happy to email off-list if that works better. many thanks and happy new year.

WOW! How did you do that,
“modified the main page display so that all posts display fully rather than using excerpts — simply go into index.php and replace the_excerpt() with the_content()”
??
I miss that so much!
And: Do you know why I can’t see the “Previous Entries”-Button in my blog? Is that also a bug?

Hi Dion

I think you are my holy grail…! I Loved using this theme on my free wordpress blog but I have found it difficult to say the least on my hosted WP Blog. I love it and would really appreciate trying to work out the CSS usuing your modified files. I am also wondering if there is any way of making links more viewer friendly, underlinging them and giving them the same orange/beige tone the titles have?

many thanks again for your help!

hi there, lovely work on the theme, i would agree that wordpress need to make available the updated files but i reckon they holding out now until wordpress 2.5 is released, then make them all compliant, i couldn’t make head or tail of the link to the header image tutorial, but it was late & my eyes were giving up, did you ever post up your modded files?

gladbeast said in February 29th, 2008 at 7:45 pm

No, I’m terribly slack. I’ll see if I can have it up by tomorrow. I’ll email everyone in this thread to let them know when it’s up.

hey Dion, is there a way to change only the main content link colors while keeping the side bar links default (white)

Rn3L said in March 9th, 2008 at 12:51 am

I’ll have a look and get back to you. There should be — it’s just a matter of knowing the classes/id’s.

Dion, I am using ChaoticSoul but I can’t get the sidebar working properly. I am a designer not a programmer so I need some real help. I have been able to figure out how to customize the theme except for the sidebar. I see yours looks great could you help me out? Could you send me the correct way to code it, maybe a sample of yours. Really any help you can offer would be greatly appreciated!

Take a look at what I have done so far http://ryanbrijs.com/blog/

Hya,

Any idea how to get the meta in the sidebar in this CS theme please?

I tried every darn file lmaoo if I try to add to the sidebar it seems to either remove the boxes or not appear. I tried it after every closed attribute but no joy.

I don’t think we should put it in the header lolol or the footer.

Thanks!

K

Have you widgetised the theme?

Dion said in March 18th, 2008 at 8:13 pm

BEAUTIFUL!!
I love the ChaoticSoul template but finding the time to tinker and get it right (so many things in the regular release just aren’t…sigh) was difficult. Thanks so much for doing this!

No problem. Glad you liked it.

Dion said in April 4th, 2008 at 5:27 pm

I too am fond of the ChaoticSoul template but can’t figure out how to get the Blogroll to be visible. Any suggestions? Thanks!

dianab said in April 10th, 2008 at 5:46 am

I had no problem with this — I’ll investigate further.

Dion said in April 10th, 2008 at 7:38 am

I found and installed your modified files - they work great! Thanks so much!

dianab said in April 10th, 2008 at 2:41 pm

Amazing how I would have found this post after so long. Looks like that’s how long I was out of the theming community. Glad to see that you took the initiative to improve where I didn’t.

If you don’t mind I’d like to take a look at your theme and see where you’ve gone with it. :)
