I found nearly every single person I’ve ever gone to school with (since primary) on Facebook, and accepted their add requests and sent requests too. It’s amazing and scary how many of them are married with kids and still living in the same city we grew up in. The novelty wore off after a while - I’d satisfied my voyeuristic curiosities about their lives and realised that they actually weren’t even people I wanted to network with! (if they’d actually been useful… it might have been different!)

I did find an old friend from primary school on MySpace last year though, and he and I are now firm friends again, but we always were kindred spirits as kids. I went on a massive deleting spree on Facebook and got rid of everyone who was irrelevent in my life - I figure if I’d wanted to stay in touch in the first place I would have!

I was thinking about your entry yesterday though, when an old friend from the beginning of the internets who I met on IRC found me on Facebook. Her and I only lost touch because both of our lives went into crazy spirals and we lived in different states. I am really happy to have found her - some people are worth finding!
