My name is Dion Detterer, and I’m a 31 year old Australian living just outside of sunny Sydney. I’m a Computer Science student, music fan, armchair philosopher and all-’round geek.

At the moment, I’m an honours student doing research in the area of dimensionality reduction, a branch within the broad field of knowledge discovery — getting the computer to intelligently pluck-out meaningful patterns within large amounts of data.

Long-term, I’m hoping to move into either computational creativity or astroinformatics.
